Vacation Bible School 2010 was a great success!  We saw many more children attend and filled with many wonderful questions!  Fun, food, crafts & games were had by all.  A huge thanks to everyone who helped to make this years VBS possible and to all who joined us for a great week.  We look forward to seeing you all next year!

Vacation Bible School, as well as our annual summer block party, are right around the corner.  Are you ready for fun, fellowship, food & learning?

It all kicks off with our block party Saturday June 19 from 6-8pm with inflatables, carnival games, food and more!  While your there, register for VBS which starts the next day, Sunday June 20.

VBS runs Sunday June 20 through Wednesday  June 23 from 6-8pm with classes for Kindergarten through 5th grade.

The seniors from Oak Grove Baptist & the Senior's from Thompson Springs Baptist will meet together for a time of fellowship and food Friday June 4, 2010 at 5pm.  We will meet in the fellowship hall at Oak Grove Baptist.  All senior citizens who are young at heart are welcome to attend.  Everyone is asked to bring to covered dish and their appetite!

Southern Tradition provided us with uplifting music on Sunday May 30th.  Their southern gospel repertoire inspired the crowd and brought back wonderful memories.  Truly a blessing for all.

Our annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering was a huge success, surpassing our $500 goal and beating the amount raised by the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.  We want to thank everyone who helped us to support the North American Mission Board.

Our annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is now underway.  This offering is the primary source of funding for the North American Mission Board and our missionaries in the Us & Canada.  Our goal this year is $500 and we know we will reach it with your help.  You can learn more about Annie Armstrong and ways you can support our missionaries here.

An ordination council met on February 28th and after due consideration voted to ordain Johnathon Powell and accept him as pastor.  We wish he and his wife Sarah the best and welcome them to their new position and service!

The ladies of the WMU are filling baby bottles with change!  No this isn't a new dietary recommendation :-), this is a fund raiser for the New Hope Pregnancy Center.

For over 21 years New Hope has reached out to the women of Cleveland with pregnancy care, abortion alternatives and counseling.   You can help support them by setting aside your pocket change and they'll even supply the bottle to both collect in and remind you of this great cause.  If you would like to help out & pick up a baby bottle see Ms. Pauline Cartwright.  You can also check out New Hope's website here.

We have a new prayer partnership!  Oak Grove has teamed up with New Birth Baptist Church in
Ames, Iowa to lend prayer support between the two congregations.  New Birth is a four year old church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Knight & his wife Alesia.  They are doing wonderful things to reach their community for Christ and are being blessed for their faithfulness.

Oak Grove is privileged to have New Birth as a prayer partner.

Oak Grove is now partnering with the Bradley Baptist Association and the Tennessee Baptist Convention to collect food items for Haiti through the "Buckets of Hope" Program.  Our church has committed to sending 5 five gallon buckets full of food items to the earthquake torn country.

You can donate food items or contribute money to the cause by contacting Pastor Powell or Janet Blackwell.

The youth night out movie night was postponed due to the snow & ice over the weekend.  We will now meet on Saturday Night February 6th at 4pm to see the movie "To Save A Life".  Our new youth bible study based of the movie will begin the next day, Sunday February 7th at 10am.  You can visit the official movie site HERE.

Our annual Christmas offering to support the International Mission Board was a huge success!  We blew past our annual goal of $400 and ended with a total of $500 to send to support baptist mission work abroad.  Thank you to the WMU for leading the way on this important mission work and to all who contributed.  You can learn more about the work of the IMB and the annual offering at IMB.org.
